MGU signs MoU with Chinese Jinan University

Mahatma Gandhi University signed a MoU Jinan University, China aimed at initiating cooperation in the fields of joint research, teaching and exchange of staff and students and promote the academic standards and internationalization of both sides.Recently Rajagiri group of institutions has entered into a strategic academic partnership with RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia.

This is a good initiative since it offers lot of new opportunities in joint research and cultural exchange.
Jinan has the largest number of overseas students among all Chinese Universities and more than 60 Indian students were studying Medicine at Jinan.
Let us hope that more Kerala universities will follow the pattern to facilitate more opportunities for students and research fellows.

Karnataka SSLC 2009 Results on May 2 or May 6? ,www.kseeb.org

Unconfirmed reports says that the Karnataka SSLC results will be published on May 2nd.
A total of 8,58,391 students from the state had appeared for the SSLC examination held from March 30 to April 6.

Rajagiri College kochi (Cochin) ties up with RMIT university Australia

RMIT-RISER

Rajagiri College and Rajagiri group of institutions is one of the leading higher education providers of Kerala and is established by CMI congregation.
Rajagiri group of institutions has entered into a strategic academic partnership with RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia.This would enable Indian students to acquire its technical degrees at affordable costs.Indian students could acquire B Tech and M Tech degrees of the Australian University.
The RMIT-RISER ( Rajagiri International School for Education and Research) partnership initially offers B. Tech and M Tech programmes.
The unique advantage of the tie-up is that students can follow two years at Rajagiri and opt for the third year at the RMIT for completing the B.Tech. programme. An additional year at the RMIT can also give them an M.Tech. degree.

The RMIT university is the one of the oldest higher education provider in Australia and one among the top hundred technical institute in the world.

Resul Pookutty to do sound mixing for Pazhassi Raja.

The much awaited movie 'Pazhassi Raja' will mark the Malayalam debut of Oscar award winning sound engineer Resul Pookutty as a sound mixer.The magnum opus historical movie 'Pazhassi Raja' is direted by ace directorHariharan and scripted by literally gaint M.T Vasudevan Nair.
Resul Pookutty won the Academy Award for Best Sound Mixing for Slumdog Millionaire this year.
Mammootty is appearing as Pazhasi Raja in the movie.It is expected that the movie release will be on 15th of August.

This movie is expected to become a masterpiece work from legendary writer M.T. Vasudevan Nair, director Hariharan and superstar Mammootty.
Actrees Kanika will star opposite Mammooty.Kanihaa plays Pazhassi's wife.
Great Musician Ilayaraja has scored music and the lyrics by O.N.V. Kurup.The movie is produced by Gokulam Gopalan with a whopping budget of more than 20 crores.The 'Pazhassi Raja' is based on the life and times of the great Kerala King 'Pazhasi Raja' who fought British in the wayanad hills.
Popular Telugu actor Suman plays the villain, Pazhaiveetan Chandu
Tamil actor Sharat Kumar is also doing a major role in the movie.Thilakan is also doing a major role in the movie.

A.R. Rahman's 'Jai ho' music show (Kozhikode) insured for Rs.3.5 crore!

The much awaited high voltage music concert at Kozhikode by the most famous Indian Musician A.R Rahman , won double Oscars this year, is insured for Rs.3.5 crores.

The ‘Jai ho’ music programme in Kozhikode will be conducted on May 3.
This will be the first public performance by A.R Rahman after winning the Oscar.
The organizer of the show Global Kerala Initiative 'Keraleeyam' went for this heavy insurance against unexpected rains and disasters because of the tremendous public response it had evoked from within and outside the country, media reports says.
Also media reports that Superstars Mamootty, Mohanlal and Suresh Gopi will be in the Kozhikode on May 3 to felicitate Rahman.

Unnai Pol Oruvan is directed by Chakri.Kamal's daughter Shruthi Haasan will be debuting as the music director in this film.
The film is produced simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu by Kamal Haasan's production banner Raj Kamal and UTV Productions.

Malayalam films 2009 -again continuous flops!

As usual many movies are released without substance and the audience rejected them.One after the other, the movies are bombing at the box office obviously because they are failing to meet the audiences' expectations.
The biggest disaster is the much hyped Mohanlal starer "Sagar Alias Jackie - Reloaded".It became a mega flop considering the cost of production and expectations.

If you thought that Jayaram can deliver another hit 'Samasthakeralam P O' after 'Veruthe Oru Bharya' ,you are terribly wrong.It has fallen deep, crushing all hopes.
The movie 'Banaras' starring kavya Madhavan and Vineet was expected to be a movie with a different approach.Yes it was with a different approach, a musical and visual extravaganza giving much importance to dance,but failed miserably at box office.
Suresh Gopi's action Thriller 'I.G' ,eventhough it is not perished as 'Sagar Alias Jackie - Reloaded' ,we cant say it is a hit.

The only hit movie of the season is 'To Harihar Nagar'.The movie is already became a huge hit and showing all symptoms of becoming a mega hit.

2 Harihar Nagar -Malayalam Movie Review

The movie 2 Harihar Nagar sequel of In Harihar Nagar which was a mega hit 18 years ago is showing all signs of repeating the history.
The film released in 65 screens across Kerala and for every show hundreds are going back without getting a ticket.The initial collection is a sure indicator of 2 Harihar Nagar becoming a mega hit.
Actor director Lal is the producer,director and distributor of the movie.The original was directed by siddique-Lal team.
The pace of the movie and the narration is too good and the performance of the funny four are as good as in the original.
Mahadevan (Mukesh), Govindankutty (Siddique) and Appukuttan (Jagadeesh) and Thomaskutty (Ashokan) are really done a good jobin the movie.Heroine is Lakshmi Rai who is appearing as their beautiful neighbour Maya.
First half of the movie is really enjoyable and second half is brilliant with its terrific climax.
Yes, 2 Harihar Nagar is a must watch movie.Lal has done a wonderful job again.

Bheeman Raghu as hero in 'Koottam Thettiya Sultan'!

We have seen Bheeman Raghu only as a villain or in few movies in small supporting roles.Even though he acted in more than 200 films he never got a chance to prove himself as a capable actor or a hero.
Malayali's etched his image as a villain in their minds.And now we can think about changing that villain image.
Soon we will see him as a hero!.
Media reports that Bheeman Raghu (Who acted in a movies named 'Bheeman' around 20 years back and hence got the name 'Bheeman Raghu') will act as hero in Sarath Chandran's new flick.
The movie named as ' Koottam Thettiya Sultan'.
The movie will be produced by Kichu films.
Other major roles in the movie are handled by Jagathy Sreekuamr, Mamukoya, Indrans, K.P.A.C. Lalitha , Kochu Preman, Jaffer Idukki, Bijukuttan, Bindhu Panikkar, Suraj Venjaaramoodu and Cochin Haneefa.

Jayaram's Bhagyadevatha malayalam film release on April 24

Another Jayaram movie will be released in April 2009.The successful director Sathyan Anthikkad's family entertainer Bhagyadevatha is getting ready for release on April 24.Jayaram's another movie 'Samastha Keralam PO' all set for Vishu release.
Sathyan Anthikad-jayaram team has delivered many good Malayalam movies including 'manasinakkare'.

The much expected Jayaram Movie 'Samastha Keralam PO' will be released on 11th of April.Kerala is already busy with election and people are in the election fever.
The movie also tells election story and about a Gandhian.The movie, based on a plot about the elections to a local Panchayath.

Vishu Greetings- Happy Vishu and 'Vishukani'. The festival of Kerala

Vishu one of the major festival of Kerala and celebrates on the first day of Malayalam month Medam ( 14th April) .Though Vishu is considered as a Hindu festival ,Vishu is celebrated by all Keralites irrespective of religions and castes.
Kani Konna flowers or the Golden Shower Tree (cassia fistula) has a special status in the 'Vishukani'.'Vishukkani' is the main ritual arrangement offerings of the festival.

The offerings consist of a ritual arrangement of auspicious articles like raw rice, fresh linen, golden cucumber, betel leaves, arecanut, metal mirror,Kani Konna flowers,coins, and a holy text and coins, in a bell metal vessel(Uruli).
